1. Amazon’s Web Services must end all contracts enabling the use of the mass surveillance capabilities of DHS and ICE

Amazon Web Services partnership with DHS, ICE, Palantir and others has created an alarmingly pervasive system of mass surveillance.  This has enabled the mass surveillance capabilities that have resulted in ICE’s abusive immigration enforcement and inhumane detentions.

Immigrants, many without any criminal charges, are imprisoned indefinitely in horrific conditions without due process or habeas corpus. In addition, Amnesty International has found systemic human rights violations in immigrant detention facilities while the ACLU has reported retaliation against immigrants who report misconduct.

On top of the inhumane treatment and conditions of the immigration detention centers, the constitutional rights of US residents have been violated in both immigration enforcement and the subsequent detentions of immigrants.

2. Amazon must support the demands of AILA and ACLU to reduce and phase out the use of immigration detention

That Jeff Bezos and Amazon support the demands of American Immigrant Lawyers Association (AILA) and the ACLU that the US government immediately “reduce and phase out the use of immigration detention for immigration enforcement purposes. Detention is costly, leads to inefficiencies in processing cases, and has a long track record of human rights abuses. Community-based case management services and legal representation is more humane and should be offered to noncitizens to support their compliance with immigration obligations.”

3. Amazon must immediately end all contracts that enable mass surveillance and human rights violations by governments, both foreign and domestic

This includes its Israeli contract, Project Nimbus, which has been used in the Occupied Territories of the West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza. Additionally, Israel is now applying the ‘Gaza Model’ in occupied areas of Lebanon, where homes, businesses, and hospitals are being systematically destroyed.

4. Amazon must end worker exploitation and allow workers to organize without retaliation

Amazon must end worker exploitation and allow workers to organize without retaliation. Amazon’s net sales reached $716.9 billion in 2025. That same year they spent over $26 million on consultants to assist with union-busting tactics. Meanwhile, workers suffer hazardous working conditions, higher than average injury rates and low wages that often require public assistance to meet basic needs of food and shelter (48% per a 2023 survey).
